If you haven’t noticed it yet, the feeds on Instagram are not displaying based on time of post anymore, but they appear based on our interactions with the other accounts.

Before the algorithm update, posts were ordered with the newest post on top of your feeds. Nowadays, the feed is ordered by what you’re most likely interested in. Account with contents that we have liked and commented are showing up on top but other than those, they are hidden.

And it is true that if you haven’t engaged with your family for the last few days, you will have less chance or not going to see their posts now.

Brands have also become concerned that their contents are not going to be seen anymore.

The algorithm was applied to Facebook a few years ago and it is adopted by Instagram recently.

There’s an engagement tool called promoted post on Instagram.

Or some are more familiar by calling it Instagram ad. It is a paid advertising to make your post or profile more visible.

So, when you think it is too hard to build organic engagement, especially when your account is new, the easiest solution is by paying to promote.
